Friday Tee Times Old Course St. Andrews

Image
View towards 1st tee of Old Course, St Andrews The tee times upon the Old Course are now posted 48 hours prior to play and when you visit the web site it now gives you an opportunity to organise another venue if unsuccessful in getting a tee time slot. Here is the link to Friday's tee times: http://www.standrews.org.uk/Ballot/Ballot-Results?date=31/05/2013 This is one of the golf world's most visited web pages. It gives up a lot of information that the discerning single golfer can use to their advantage by looking at the two & three ball slots and picking his time to talk to the Old Course Starter to be added to them, if accepted.

Boston Golfers Arrive in Scotland

Image
The Coffey golfers from Boston, USA, arrived at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon and after picking up their car from the ever reliable Arnold Clark they followed me up the road to St. Andrews, stop at a very sunny Jigger Inn to chat about the golfing week to come over a deserved beer and enjoy the iconic view across the Old Course. Alongside 1st fairway of Old Course at St. Andrews It was then onward and a 5 minute journey to their accommodation at the Fairmont Hotel where Caddie Golf Tours job is done for today. Time to let the couples have some relax time, acclimatise and look forward to their stay in Scotland.  1st tee Eden Course St. Andrews The boys golf tomorrow on the Eden Course here in St. Andrews which will be perfect for their 'warm-up' round before tackling the adjacent Old Course on Monday 27th and New Course on Tuesday. I do hope this lovely change in the weather continues and the Coffey's enjoy a sparkling St. Andrews and Scotland.

The club boasts

Return of Visiting Golfers to Old Course

The Old Course at St. Andrews has been closed to local and visiting golfers since Monday 6th May due to the R&A Golf Club playing their annual Spring Meeting. Here is the official tee time sheet for today: http://www.standrews.org.uk/Ballot/Ballot-Results?date=09/05/2013 R&A Clubhouse Old Course St. Andrews Today, Thursday 9th May, is the last day of the competition and the Ballot will open up tomorrow for locals and visitors alike. The majority of the caddies are delighted and this marks the real beginning of the caddie golf season where many will be looking to hit two rounds a day Monday - Friday with a single round flung in on Saturday or Sunday. I personally will be aiming for 8 rounds per week with the weekend being kept free for competition golf with my St. Andrews Golf Club. The following link shows the official tee times for tomorrow Friday 10th May with play beginning at 06.30am and going through to 17.50pm. I do think that the last tee time might struggle

Return to Day Job on Old Course

Image
I returned to St. Andrews Caddie Pavilion today after my rather full week with my Caddie Golf Tours Operator hat on. The 12 golfers from Chicago had a fantastic time in St. Andrews and I am sure we will see them again, great fun and good golf was had by all. Caddie Pavilion St. Andrews The day job now beckons for the next three weeks with the R&A Golf Club holding their annual Spring Meeting there will be few jobs for the St. Andrews caddies this week but, I do have my R&A golfer over from San Francisco and HK tees off tomorrow morning on the Old Course in what is promising to be a beautiful sunshine day with little wind. Perfect.

Kingarrock Hickory Golf, St. Andrews

A wonderful day at the Kingarrock Hickory Golf with the Lindsay Golf Tour over enjoying Scottish links golf. A visit to this nine hole parkland golf course where they only play with hickory shafted golf clubs will fast become one of the venues I shall recommend to all my future golfers who come to St. Andrews. It is a real treat from the warm welcome from Mr. David Anderson, the nip of whisky before we go out, the 'thwack' of the wooden headed 'Spoon' hitting replica golf balls from a different age and the laughter throughout the course. Truly wonderful. www.kingarrock.com Please click on the above text to be taken to my G+ page and some photographs of our round at Kingarrock Hickory Golf.
