St. Andrews Golf Club

View across 18th green Old Course from St. Andrews Golf Club Entrance to St. Andrews Golf Club Here is a link to my golf club's web site which I thought a few of my golfing friends may be interested in. There is a visitor section which will give you a flavour of the club which was established in 1843. If there are any golfers planning to visit St. Andrews you can become a 'Temporary Member' and enjoy the history and facilities of the golf club as long as you give the Secretary advanced notice. There are great views across the 18th green and 1st tee of the Old Course where one can easily sit and lose oneself in the timeless struggle of the golfer, ball and the Old Course.

R&A Golf Club V St. Andrews Golf Clubs

The 'Town Match' is an annual game played between the members of the R&A and those of the local golf clubs in St. Andrews. It is played over the Old, New & Jubilee courses here on the links in the Foursomes format, alternate shot, and is one of the great fun events of the year. I finally got my name into the hat along with my golfing buddy of many years, Andy. I sponsored Andy into the St. Andrews Golf Club this year and we were picked out as a team to golf on the Jubilee Course at 11.44am Saturday. Our opponents, from the R&A, were named as Mr J Rigg & Mr D Fay and our team's combined handicaps are 23, so no one gets any shots in this match play foursomes game. Once some food was taken with a couple of pints of guinness I sugges...

St. Andrews Golf Club 2011 Photograph

The St. Andrews Golf Club had asked as many members as could be available to congrgate today, Sunday 31st July, at 1.00pm on the steps adjacent to the 18th green of the Old Course for an 'official club photograph'. I believe the last one taken was 2000, over 10 years ago. There have been a few new additions to the club since then, I being one of them, and a few stalwart members have sadly passed on. The St. Andrews GC getting into position. Our man in charge taking control, requesting focus! As I did not have a dark blazer but was wearing a white shirt, with the addition of a recently purchased St. Andrews GC tie, I decided that the back row was a good place to be. I am the second head from the left. A good photo of the golf club members, 2011.
