Golf on Old Course Friday March 28th

Specialised travel company Thistle Dubh, our friends over in Centennial Colorado USA, were in touch a few weeks ago to introduce two of their clients travelling to Europe, Scotland and golf at St. Andrews. They asked if we could arrange to get their golfers onto the Old Course which would round out their weekend of golf with the New Course and Carnoustie Championship already in the mix. Old Course St. Andrews Well, with a little bit of good fortune the two golfers from San Francisco, Tim a 10 hdcp and John a 9 hdcp, will be joining our very own John Boyne on the 1st tee of the Old Course on Friday at 07:00am. We three have the first tee time of the day and to paraphrase Colonel Kilgore "I love the smell of a golf course in the morning"...Fore! Here is Friday's official tee time draw sheet for the Old Course at St.Andrews: http://www.standrews.org.uk/Ballot/Ballot-Results

Josh in discussion with Caddie Golf Tours' Boyne Joshua drives off 17th Road hole tee Caddie Boyne assisting Mike at 17th Road green Dean, Scott, Mike and Josh on Swilken Bridge, Old Course Mike still listening to Caddie Boyne, which was encouraging,  as we discuss approach to 18th green Joshua and Caddie Boyne hanging out at the Old Course This was a lovely set of photographs to receive from Josh that brought back good memories of a truly wonderful summer spent in St. Andrews. I hope you all enjoy them and we at Caddie Golf Tours look forward to assisting you to golf here in Scotland... FORE!

Monday 8th April, 2013, Ballot tee time sheet for the Old Course at St. Andrews and Mr B. Duffy must know a few people as his 06.50am time is 'unofficial' and he is heading out as a single golfer. Rather Unusual. http://www.standrews.org.uk/Booking/Ballot.aspx/?date=08/04/2013 The Starter's Hut & 1st tee of the Old Course at St. Andrews Upon scrolling down the Ballot one comes upon an interesting group with full forenames rather than initials being stated, again highly unusual, and each a female golfer...Jan, Diana, Pauline, Claire, Elizabeth, Nicole, Joanna, Shiona, Sue, Ann, Vivien & Di. This could be good fun and I do believe that these girls may just coincide with my arrival.

Ballot Changes: 2012 Old Course Golf St. Andrews

Image
The St. Andrews Links Trust will be making changes to the operation of the Local Ballot (lottery) that will be used by golfers to attain an Old Course tee time during 2012. The alteration will entail the tee times being drawn two days ahead of the day the golfers wish to play. Behind 17th Road hole green Old Course St.Andrews Approximately 50% of the tee times from Monday-Saturday (the Old Course is closed on a Sunday) are distributed by applying via the Local Ballot, when in St. Andrews, and not in possession of a pre-booked date and time. The change will occur from Saturday, 7th January 2012, when the Ballot will be drawn for golf to be played two days later on Monday, 9th January. This procedure will continue throughout 2012. More information can be found using the following link:  http://www.standrews.org.uk/News/Latest-News/The-Old-Course-Ballot-changes-to-48-hours-ahead-in.aspx
