St. Andrews Golf Sept/Oct 2014

Sunshine breaking through onto Old Course 18th green

After two weeks of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club's annual Autumn Meeting held on the Old Course, here at St. Andrews, it is once again open for play to local and visiting golfers from tomorrow Saturday 20th September.

It is expected to be an exceptionally busy week, many of the spectators beginning to arrive in Scotland for next week's Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, will naturally gravitate to St. Andrews looking to golf the Old Course. As can be seen from the above Ballot Results for Saturday the first tee time is 7:00am and last is at 3:00pm. A finite number are available so good luck to those entering the Ballot/Lottery next week.

Golf on the Old Course will only last for one week as the European Golf Tour rolls into town with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship being staged from Sunday 28th September until Monday 6th October. Carnoustie Championship and Kingsbarns Golf Links will also be closed for this week as they participate in the Dunhill's celebration of classic links golf.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
The organizers of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship got some wonderful news last week when World No1 Rory McIlroy confirmed that he would be taking part this year event after an absence of 4 years.
